1. UNDRO/UNDP RESIDENT REPRESENTATIVE REPORTS THAT HEAVY RAINS,
WHICH STARTED FALLING 19 MARCH, CAUSED FLOODS IN CENTRAL AND
EASTERN REGIONS (GOVERNORATES OF HADRAMAUT, SHABWA AND MAHRA).
DAMAGES SUSTAINED EXPECTED TO SURPASS THOSE CAUSED BY 1982
FLOODS.

2. FIRST ESTIMATE OF NUMBER OF PEOPLE AFFECTED IS 50,000. 15
PEOPLE DEAD IN SEYOUN AREA, AND 16 VILLAGES ISOLATED AS RAINS
