Algeria: Drought Affected Displaced Populations - Mali/Niger - Jul 1985
Disaster description
Algeria launched an appeal 9 July 1985 in response to 40,000 drought affected refugees from Mali and Niger. The displaced settled in the province of Wilaya, southern Algeria. The breakdown of the displaced: 13,097 in Guezzam, 1,947 in Zaouatene, 4,337 in Bordj-Moktar (three border posts). The remaining 20,00 moved towards the town of Tamanrasset and neighbouring areas.
