Micronesia: Tropical Storm - Nov 1987

The UNDRO/UNDP resident representative has reported that during the early hours of the 21st of November, Truk was devastated by tropical storm Nina with winds exceeding 80 knots. To date, there have been four confirmed deaths, one missing person, three critically injured persons, and scores of minor injuries. Hundreds are homeless and temporarily sheltered in undamaged public buildings. About 95 percent of crops were damaged or destroyed. (UN DHA, 27 Nov 1987)
