Nepal: Floods - Aug 1987

Following torrential rain, for the past two weeks, extensive flood and landslide damage has been reported throughout the country. Particularly affected are central and eastern Terai districts and Central Hills. In addition to the damage to crops, houses, public infrastructure (mainly transportation), and private property, many families were rendered homeless. (UN DHA, 14 Aug 1987)
