Humanitarian Aid to Zimbabwe

Support by Swiss Humanitarian Aid

The humanitarian aid provided by the Confederation supports the Zimbabwean population with emergency and early recovery aid in food and agriculture goods, including measures aimed at sustainably enhancing agricultural production. The programme also comprises operations to combat HIV/AIDS and the cholera epidemic. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) deploys experts on site and finances the activities of humanitarian organizations. In 2009, it invested nearly 6.5 million CHF in this programme. This aid is continuing in 2010. The SDC humanitarian programme in Zimbabwe is monitored by a programme officer for humanitarian affairs, based at the Swiss Embassy in Harare.
