During the reporting period, 31,889 movements were observed, while 1,267 migrants (52% female, 48% male) were surveyed at 22 Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs) in Zimbabwe. The majority (91%) of the surveyed migrants identified as Zimbabwean nationals, while four per cent were Zambians and two per cent were South Africans. Among the interviewed Zambian nationals, 62 per cent were travelling to Zimbabwe for commercial activities, primarily to sell clothes. Inflows accounted for 60 per cent and outflows comprised 40 per cent of the observed movements. Of the observed movements, the primary sending districts were Beitbridge (50%), Harare (12%), and Chiredzi (11%), while the main receiving districts were Harare (27%), Beitbridge (20%), Bulawayo (11%) and Masvingo (11%). Matabeleland South recorded the highest number of outflows (54%), followed by Masvingo (20%). Harare recorded the highest inflows (28%), and Matabeleland South recorded 23 per cent. Migrants from Matabeleland South were primarily destined for Limpopo (59%) and Gauteng (34%) in South Africa.
