The Nutrition Cluster undertook a capacity analysis for operational partners, including UN agencies, as well as an analysis of the internal cluster coordination capacities.
Two tools were prepared by the cluster with inputs from partners. One focused on NGOs and the other on UN agencies.
The NGO partners’ capacity analysis tool focused on the following key aspects: service delivery in targeting IDP and non-IDP settings, operational status, technical capacity of the staff (trained on CMAM, IYCF, TFC, and COVID-19 guidance), access status, logistic capacity in the operational areas, funding status and prospects, availability of nutrition supplies in the operational areas, and management of beneficiary information and HRP accountability.
The national capacity analysis, mainly for UN agencies (UNICEF, WFP, and WHO), focused on overall technical capacity of the Nutrition Cluster (with respect to CMAM, TFC, IYCF, BSFP), supply status, implementation of COVID-19 guidance packages, logistic capacity, funding status, etc.
The Nutrition Cluster capacity analysis also included the capacity of the coordination team, coverage of the various nutrition interventions, mapping of the "Who is Doing What, Where" tool, and functionality of nutrition sites (based on monthly 4Ws updates by the Cluster).
