A new tropical cyclone named TEJ formed over the central Arabian Sea on 20 October and started moving north-west toward the Arabian Peninsula, strengthening. On 23 October at 0.00 UTC, its centre was located over the Sea, north of Socotra Island (Yemen) and approximately 210 km south-east of Qishn Town, Al Mahrah Governorate, south-eastern Yemen, near the border with Oman, with maximum sustained winds of 176 km/h.
