Official numbers from health facilities across Yemen point to more than 33,800 people injured and over 6,700 killed since the war escalated in March 2015. Due to the high number of health facilities that are not functioning or partially functioning as a result of the conflict, however, these numbers are underreported and likely higher. Continued international law violations to protect civilians, by all parties to the conflict, have forced over 3.1 million persons to move across Yemen in search of safety, security, and livelihoods. There are now IDPs in 21 of the 22 governorates in the country and 71 per cent of them have been displaced for over one year. Their vulnerability and that of their host communities is rapidly increasing and this is only made worse by the increased food insecurity faced in these governorates. Thirty one health workers have been injured and 13 have been killed while responding to needs across Yemen.
