The total number of people directly affected by displacement in the country is about 538,112 of which there are about 306,087 IDPs (57%) and 232,025 returnees (43%). There were no reported IDP returns in May. About 8,000 returnee families in Sa’ada continue to travel to Haradh to collect their monthly food rations. In Aden, IDP families have cited lack of shelter as the key reason for not returning to Abyan. The number of new arrivals in Yemen continue to drop. So far, this year about 42,000 refugees and migrants have reached Yemen - a decrease of 17 percent compared to last year. About 26,000 migrants continue to be stranded in Hajjah, Amran, Sana'a and Aden Governorates where they face harrowing conditions.
