Attachments

Key Highlights:

As of 21 December 2025, a total of 1,228 households have been verified as newly displaced from Hadramawt to Marib, primarily hosted in Marib City and Marib Al Wadi.

  • Security tensions escalated in parts of Hadramawt over the past week, increasing risks of civilian harm, further displacement, and service disruption.
  • Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) assistance has reached 1,224 households, while remaining stocks are limited and additional kits are pending arrival.
  • Health and nutrition services remain under severe strain; extra stocks might be needed, and availability is secure.
  • Sustained coordination, humanitarian access, and urgent resource mobilization remain essential.

Context and Security Developments:

Recent developments in Hadramawt, particularly in Al Wadi districts, have resulted in reshaping areas of control. Large-scale hostilities have subsided, and reported incidents remain sporadic, contributing to a relatively calm security environment despite the presence of multiple armed actors.

Measures such as restrictions on carrying weapons within city centers have supported improved security perceptions. However, uncertainty around military deployments and administrative arrangements may continue to pose operational and bureaucratic challenges for humanitarian actors.
