Yemen: Humanitarian Situation in Eastern and Southern Governorates - Update as of 8 January 2026

Key Highlights:

• Escalating tensions in the southern and eastern governorates have led to the displacement of 1,634 households from Hadramawt to Marib.
• Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) has assisted 1,634 households with in-kind and cash support.
• Health cluster is supporting 108 health facilities, providing trauma and emergency medical supplies, essential medicines, medical consultations, operational costs, and fuel.
• 15,000 individuals reached with reproductive health services, including emergency obstetric and neonatal care services.
• Access constraints, road closures, fuel shortages, and disrupted supply chains continue to limit response capacity.
