In the second half of 2024, the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF) received an additional $12.7 million, bringing total contributions to $47.9 million, demonstrating our donors’ steadfast commitment to supporting people affected by crisis in Yemen.
A Reserve Allocation for $1.5 million was launched in early October 2024 following airstrikes in Al Hodeidah in September that led to significant disruptions in the governorate’s
electricity supply and placed significant pressure on an already fragile health system. The grant was used to procure fuel, emergency medical supplies, and equipment, enabling key
health facilities in Hodeidah Governorate to continue operating, delivering emergency care, and managing mass casualties.
The First Standard Allocation was launched in mid-October 2024 for $30 million in response to critical multi-sectoral priorities across key sectors in districts where needs were
classified as the highest (severity 4 and above). The allocation supported multi-sectoral and integrated responses to prevent people from slipping further into catastrophic emergency
needs.
In parallel to the First Standard Allocation, a $20 million Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) Underfunded Emergencies (UFE) grant was approved and will be implemented
through an overarching joint strategy, leveraging the unique strengths of the two pooled fund facilities.
