Food insecurity in Yemen has largely remained unchanged this year, with 43 per cent of population food insecure (over 10 million people) compared to 44 per cent in 2012. But the number of severely food insecure people has reduced from 5.2 million in 2012 to 4.5 million this year. Compared to 2009 when 31.5 per cent of the Yemeni population (6.8 million people) were food insecure, the overall situation has worsened. Abyan is the most affected governorate.
