SUMMARY OF FINDINGS
Flow Monitoring activities resumed in mid-August 2025 following several months of suspension caused by operational challenges. This report summarizes findings from 11 August to 30 September 2025. During mentioned timeframe, a total of 17,944 movements were documented, with 7,816 occurring in August and 10,072 in September. Of these, 15,863 represented inflow migrants arriving in Yemen, while 2,081 indicated outflow migrants departing the country.
Majority of migrants are male, with men (male migrants on the age of 18 years old and above) accounting 73 per cent of total movement while boys (male migrant on the age below 18 years old) constitute 9 per cent. Among total men migrants, 89 per cent recorded came to Yemen and 11 per cent recorded leaving Yemen. Cross-border movement of female migrants were recorded during the same period; it reaches 18 per cent of total movement (11% female on the age of 18 years old and above while 7% on the age below 18 years old).
Half of total movement consisted of incoming migrants whose departed from Somalia and arrived in various landing points in Yemen specifically in Abyan and Shabwa governorates. Migrants also recorded depart from Djibouti, constitute 31 per cent of total movement, and arrived in various landing points in Ta’iz governorate. Moreover, the team recorded seven per cent of movement were arrival from Oman while 11 per cent of total movement were migrants leaving Yemen to Djibouti.
The majority of migrants planned to travel to various locations within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, accounting for 82 per cent of total movements during this period. Approximately seven per cent indicated Yemen as their intended final destination, while only one per cent planned to go to Oman. Additionally, migrants departing Yemen primarily aimed to travel to Djibouti before continuing their journeys to their origin countries.
