Highlight

• In June, the ETC provided data connectivity services to 1,326 humanitarians and security communications services to a total of 2,535 responders across 19 sites in Yemen.

• The ETC conducted preventive maintenance of ETC infrastructure including for connectivity services in Aden and Hodeidah.

• In coordination with UNDSS, the ETC installed five VHF mobile radio antennas on WFP Armoured Vehicles (AVs) in Aden on 07 June.

Coordination

The WFP-led ETC continues its long-term collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) in providing IT services including connectivity to 29 Emergency Operations Centres (EOCs) across Yemen and supporting humanitarian operations in response to the ongoing cholera outbreak through access to internet and IT facilities.

Internet connectivity

In June, the ETC provided data connectivity to 1,326 humanitarians in 19 sites across nine common operational areas in Yemen.

The ETC conducted preventive maintenance of ETC infrastructure including for connectivity services in Aden and Hodeidah.

On 25 June, the ETC supported the relocation of the UNDP guesthouse to a new building by moving and installing the IT network equipment in Aden.

The ETC unified Wi-Fi solution―initiated in coordination with WFP HQ and Regional Office―is being deployed and piloted. The development of the ETC Yemen Captive Portal is completed in collaboration with the supplier. The application will enhance users’ experience by providing a unified login page for the ETC users’ authentication and access across the country.
