Despite international efforts and a six-month truce that brought a glimpse of hope, the humanitarian situation in Yemen remains alarmingly dire. In 2023, almost two-thirds of the population will need humanitarian assistance and protection, the result of years of protracted conflict, economic deterioration and collapsing basic services. With the support of donors, aid agencies were able to avert the worst last year by providing lifesaving assistance to almost 11 million people each month. Now, it is imperative that the international community comes together again to support the humanitarian operation and the millions of people who are paying the price of this crisis.
