Turkish Red Crescent's operation for victims of Yemen floods

Concerning the consecutive floods occured in many parts of Yemen on 24th October, Turkish Red Crescent (TRC) launched a humanitarian relief operation in order to provide urgent assistance to the affected population.

For this purpose, TRC has deployed a relief team consisting of 2 disaster response specialists to the area to conduct a need assessment in cooperation with Yemen Red Crescent Society(YRCS). In the wake of a quick evaluation, TRC has dispatched 500 food rations each of which weighs 20kgs to the flood victims in Hadramuot and distributed 250 food rations to the affectees in Al Hodeidah. Also TRC has made a $10.000.- cash contribution to YRCS so as to be used in response activities.

Besides, a TRC staff who represents Islamic Committee of the International Crescent (ICIC) which was established under the Organisation of the Islamic Conference has been commissioned to the region contributed $10,000.- in kind and in cash aid to YRCS.
