“What kills more severely than the hellish heat in our valley is water extinction,”
Wdad Groaned to her donkey.
The dead and erosive pipelines in her district were the mere conveyor of water from the disease-origin tank that had been deteriorating year after year. Diseases have spread amongst her family as a result of that dirty water which was the setback in her childhood that compelled her to abandon her human friends, drop out her education, and leave her safety behind just to provide her family with their necessity of out-of-disease potable water.
Thus Dark nights and long days of guiding her solitary nonhuman friend, a donkey, to the mere remote water source to come back barely with a tiny amount of water to keep her family alive and maintain their proper health.
This is like just like the doomsday; everyone is looking for the salvation from water scarcity. I feel sorry for our hell-like condition” Wedad, the nine-year weary girl, groaned to her donkey who have patrolled from side to side to find the endless queue of longing people of drinkable water. Since the early age of her, WASH inferior infrastructure, the weak healthcare system, and the remote distance of the district center were her the causes of Wedad’s suffering within her community.
Nevertheless, the sparks of humane initiatives were ignited in the Building Foundation for Development (BFD) spirit, with the supervision of Vision Hope Organization (VHI), BFD decided to put an end for Wedad’s miserable life and pull out her reality from the edge of despair once they decided to launch the rehabilitation and constriction water project in Hajir district of Hadramout.
This intervention aimed to provide easy and safe access to potable clean water so that Wedad will be able to reunite her friends, enroll in her school, and recall the sense of protection within her family. Thus the eroded pipelines were replaced with new pipelines of high quality to ensure the well conveying of water, and the contaminated tank was rehabilitated thoroughly to ensure that the out-ofdisease water will reach homes rapidly.
