RCA takes delivery of lands for Khalifa housing city in Yemen

WAM Sanaa, 7th Dec. 2009 (WAM) -- A total of 750 out of 1000 plots for building the Sheikh Khalifa housing project for victims of floods that swept governorates of Hadramout and Al-Mahra in Yemen at the end of last year have been handed out to the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA), Yemeni Minister of Public Works and RoadS Omar Al Karshami announced today.

He said during a meeting today with the visiting RCA Secretary General, Mohammed Khalifa Al Qamzi, that the remaining sites would be delivered within the coming two weeks.

The meeting discussed ongoing preparations for executing the 1000 housing unit project. Ways of clearing obstacles hindering the implementation of the project were also discussed.

Al Qamzi said the UAE lends special attention to the vital project for accommodating population affected by the floods.
