RCA, Khalifa Foundation to assess relief needs of flood-victims in Yemen

In line with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister & Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority, has ordered dispatch of relief materials to the people affected by the floods which hit Yemen recently.

Sheikh Hamdan instructed the RCA to provide every possible help to the flood victims in Yemen to improve the humanitarian situation in the affected areas.

Dr Ali bin Abdullah Al Kaabi, RCA's Board Chairman, said the Authority had taken all arrangements for quick dispatch of the relief materials in the provinces of Hadramout and Al Mahra, in collaboration with the Yemeni Red Crescent Society.

On his part, Director of Humanitarian Services at the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charity Foundation Nader Abdul Rahman Al Mulla arrived in Sanaa yesterday to assess the magnitude of relief needed to assist regions swamped by flash floods in Yemen over the last two days.

Al Mulla said he would meet with Yemeni officials to discuss the kinds of urgent assistance to relieve the affected people.
