WAM SANA'A, 6th August, 2013 (WAM) -- The Red Crescent Authority, (RCA) launched a project of Refugee Day in Yemen as part of its programmes for the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The RCA teams distributed food items in refugee camps housing Somali, Palestinians and Syrian refugees in the Sana'a, Hodeidah and Aden provinces.
Acting Director of RCA's office in Yemen, in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) said that the number of beneficiaries of the project reached to 8,000 refugee families and each family received food basket containing 12 varieties of food and desserts.
The refugees thanked and appreciated UAE and its people under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the generous help during their difficult time.
Meanwhile, the RCA Red Crescent teams yesterday distributed 5,000 food baskets to people with special needs in Sana'a and a number of regions of Yemen.
