Sana'a - The UAE Red crescent Authority (RCA) has intensified its humanitarian efforts to ease the plight of the people affected by the floods which hit Yemen recently.
A delegation from the UAE arrived yesterday aboard a plane carrying tents, blankets and foodstuff as part of an on-going humanitarian programme, being carried out in coordination with the Yemen Red Crescent Society.
Humaid Al Shamis, who heads the RCA delegation in Yemen, described the situation in the affected areas as critical. "We are trying hard to improve living conditions of the affected people and to provide all necessary supplies to them," he added. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
