Attachments

The United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) has recorded five (05) landmine and explosive remnants of war (ERW) related incidents in the Hudaydah Governorate in March. In these incidents, one (01) woman was injured, two boys (02) and six (06) men were killed. The incidents took place in the Ad Durayhimi, Al Hali, Bayt Al Faqih, and Hays districts, areas that continued to be documented as sites of recurrent landmine and ERW incidents. The increase in both number of incidents and casualties in March compared to February underscores the escalating threat posed by landmines and explosive remnants of war in Hudaydah governorate. This alarming trend highlights the urgent need for enhancing mine action efforts including, clearance, explosive ordnance risk education and victim assistance to protect civilians and prevent further loss of life.
