Helping girls in Yemen re-enroll in school and continue their education
Yemen’s education system has been severely impacted by the ongoing humanitarian crisis there. The salaries of most teachers remain unpaid, large numbers of schools have been damaged, and there is a shortage in the financial resources needed to keep schools operating.
This serious and ongoing situation led KSrelief and the Islamic World Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) to initiate a project called “Catch-up of Education for Girls who Drop Out of School in Yemen”.
The purpose of the project is to help provide support for girls who have dropped out of school by offering them the opportunity to continue their education. The eventual goal of the initiative is to reduce the dropout rate among Yemeni girls who live below the poverty line.
