Khalifa Foundation sends aid to Socotra Archipelago

ABU DHABI, 24th November, 2015 (WAM) -- In implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow up of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the foundation is sending aid by sea and air to the Socotra Archipelago.

Consisting of food, blankets, tents and medical supplies to help the people of the island affected by cyclones Chabala and Megh, which left a devastating impact on the infrastructure of the island.

An official source at the Khalifa Foundation said that the aid dispatched so far amounted to more than five tons of medical materials, modern medical equipment as well as ten tons of blankets and tents, 500 tons of various food items and 1200 barrels of diesel fuel.
