Rainfall time series,
Rainfall regimes differ markedly across Yemen; coastal areas receive most of their rains in the winter months while Highlands follow two distinct rainy seasons: Saif (March-May) and Kharif (July-September). The time series maps show monthly changes in rainfall performance compared to the 1981 – present monthly Long-Term Average (LTA). June 2023 – August 2023 are projections based on the Probabilistic Multimodel Ensemble. The orangish color indicates rainfall deficits while greenish and bluish colors show rainfall improvements. The white color indicates no major changes in rainfall amounts relative to the LTA.
