AL MUKALLA, 4 December, 2017 (WAM) -- The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, today provided urgent rescue and humanitarian aid to the people of Rasb and Atouf in the Sah District, Hadramaut Governorate, who are suffering from harsh humanitarian conditions.
The aid is part of the UAE’s charitable efforts, which aim to ease the suffering of local residents caused by the crisis in Yemen.
Ahmed Al Niyadi, Deputy Head of the ERC Team in Hadramaut, stated that their rescue campaign aims to improve the lives of local residents, through providing humanitarian and development aid while further noting that the aid is part of the UAE’s charitable and humanitarian efforts.
He added that the campaign aims to fill the food gap that local families are suffering from, as the harsh economic and humanitarian conditions in the region have led to increased poverty and unemployment.
The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the UAE’s leadership and people for their continuous assistance to the Yemeni people, which has eased the desperate humanitarian conditions in Hadramaut. They also stressed that the aid came at the right time, due to the deteriorating economic conditions and the lack of employment opportunities.
