Maternal and neonatal health is one of the foundation's priorities, reflected in its health activities and programs, which are implemented in the most underserved and hard-to-reach communities. The aim is to create a real and positive impact on the community. With this in mind, the foundation launched the "Obstetric Emergency" maternal and neonatal health services project, targeting 4 health facilities in the governorates of Raymah and Hodeidah. These facilities are located in some of the most rugged and remote districts, far from service centers, and accessing them is a significant challenge for service providers and humanitarian workers.
Since the beginning of 2024, All Girls Foundation for Development, in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), has been implementing the project. The foundation employed 66 health staff for obstetric emergencies and trained 30 midwives in the same field to provide healthcare services in the emergency obstetrics departments of the targeted facilities. The goal is to reduce maternal mortality in vulnerable and remote communities. The foundation also provided necessary medical solutions to the targeted facilities, offered monthly financial incentives to health workers, and rehabilitated and maintained the health facilities.
Additionally, the foundation supplied cleaning and sterilization materials to the facilities and mobilized efforts to raise awareness in the local community about the importance of utilizing health services and caring for pregnant women in terms of health and nutrition.
Furthermore, several screens were installed in the facilities displaying key health and nutrition messages related to mothers and their children, as well as general public health information.
