Project Overview
Women’s Voice and Leadership in Humanitarian Settings (WHS) is an innovative program focused on capacity-sharing, learning, and grant-making for Women-Led Organizations (WLOs) in Afghanistan, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and Nepal. A five-year project funded by USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), WHS aims to strengthen WLOs’ voices and leadership in humanitarian planning and decision-making. Lead Partners Organizations (LPOs) and Lead Learning Partners (LLPs) co-design the capacity-strengthening and learning elements for cohorts of 15 WLOs in each country. During the course of the program, all 60 WLOs will access multi-year, flexible grants to invest in their organizational strengthening. During the first semester of Year 2 of the project, significant achievements were made across the capacity-strengthening, advocacy and coordination, and fundraising support aspects of the project in each country. Some of the key milestones and learnings from this period are reflected here.
