Attachments

During a year in which more than 300 million people needed humanitarian assistance globally, USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) remained steadfast in its mission to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the physical, social, and economic effects of disasters. BHA responded to 84 crises across 66 countries in Fiscal Year (FY) 2024, delivering aid to the communities most affected by conflict, food insecurity, natural hazards, and other shocks. The Bureau supported seven active responses during the year, with staff of these teams—composed of programmatic and technical humanitarian experts—deploying to 12 countries to coordinate U.S. Government (USG) engagement and‌ humanitarian investment in areas suffering the year’s most acute and complex disasters. Humanitarian funding totals listed throughout this report reflect USAID/BHA funding obligated as of September 30, 2024.
