The Training Facilitation Manual: Inclusion of LGBTIQ+ People in Humanitarian Response in Ukraine is a practical guide developed by Outright International Ukraine in close collaboration with local LGBTIQ+ organisations, the Protection Cluster, and the LGBTIQ+ Communities Technical Working Group. It is intended to support humanitarian actors in Ukraine to strengthen inclusive programming, protection of rights, and equitable service delivery for LGBTIQ+ individuals in the context of humanitarian crisis.
This manual offers a full-day training curriculum, complete with step-by-step facilitation instructions, presentation slides, handouts, glossary, exercises (including a role-play scenario), and key resources. It includes modules on legal foundations, barriers and risks, inclusive communication, and community participation throughout the humanitarian programme cycle.
Available in both Ukrainian and English, the manual promotes safe learning environments, practical application, and reflection on discriminatory practices. It is designed for humanitarian staff and volunteers and aims to build capacity to apply an intersectional, inclusive approach based on global standards and human rights principles.
