Focusing on sexual and reproductive rights and needs of women displaced by war and armed conflict, this guide provides a tool for the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian aid programmes.

Assuming sexual and reproductive rights are human rights, the guide sees the promotion and protection of these as integral to all humanitarian relief operations and aims to assist in forming a comprehensive, gender and culture sensitive approach of displaced women's sexual and reproductive health.

The guide was based on a preliminary literature review, desk study, field visits to the Palestinian Occupied Territories, as well as discussions with programme officers and international experts.
