THE PROBLEM
All across the globe there is a frightening rise in extremism, isolation, and fear.
We are losing our commitment to welcome the stranger, provide for the most vulnerable and cross lines of difference to solve shared problems.
Meanwhile, there are 1.6 billion young people across the globe with ideas on how to solve the world’s most entrenched problems but they are too often dismissed as victims or “the future.”
Consequently, too few youth have access to the tools, mentors, and resources to turn their insights into reality.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This generation of young people is ready to change the world for the better – not someday in the future – right now. They are hungry to lead and imagine innovative approaches to make their communities healthier, safer, and more inclusive, while writing new narratives of who they are and what they are capable of.
60% of young people want to make a difference in the world (compared with 39% of the previous generation) and research shows they are motivated by experiences and opportunities to lead.
We have an unprecedented opportunity to unleash this generation's compassionate creativity to solve our biggest global problems. Now is the time to put financial resources, digital tools, and mentorship into the hands of young people across the globe, wherever and whenever they feel inspired to act.
