On Wednesday, György Bakondi, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister, told public television channel M1 that increasingly one can see that migrants are exploring new routes across the Balkans and from Libya to Italy.
The Chief Security Advisor said that this is one of the reasons it is so important for Europe to be able to protect its external borders and for it to have a system which can select those people who are truly in need of protection. This is also what the Prime Minister’s “Schengen 2.0” action plan proposes.
Mr. Bakondi pointed out that “the majority” of the plan is supported across Europe, but there are certain leftist politicians who did not receive it positively – just as they opposed previous proposals by the Government of Hungary.
