1. Introduction
This Safeguarding Policy outlines Islamic Relief’s commitment to preventing and responding to all forms of harm, abuse, exploitation, and misconduct across its operations, programmes, and partnerships. Safeguarding is a core duty of care and applies to all associates of the organisation, ensuring accountability at every level.
The policy integrates key safeguarding areas:
• General safeguarding – Protection of all individuals, particularly at-risk individuals, from harm, neglect, exploitation, and abuse.
• Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse & Harassment (PSEAH) – A zero-tolerance approach to sexual misconduct, with a survivor-centred response and accountability measures.
• Child safeguarding – Upholding the rights and protection of children in line with international child protection standards.
