London, 2 June 2025
As global humanitarian aid funding continues to decline – 2025 is projected to mark a record low – there has never been a more critical moment to explore how public and private sector collaboration can bridge the growing gap in humanitarian financing. With over 300 million people worldwide in need of humanitarian assistance, innovative funding solutions are urgently needed.
This year’s AidEx conference and exhibition, taking place alongside the Development2030 event at Geneva’s Palexpo on 22–23 October 2025, will spotlight finance as a key theme. Building on the momentum of last year’s ‘Innovative Finance’ side event and the landmark Humanitarian Finance Summit held in London in February, AidExwill launch a dedicated Innovative Finance Pavilion, running throughout the two-day event, in partnership with the Humanitarian Finance Forum.
The 2025 edition of AidExandDevelopment2030will bring together leading voices from across the humanitarian, development, and financial sectors to explore how innovative finance, particularly blended finance models, can address the critical shortfall in humanitarian funding. The emphasis will be on moving from conversation to action, with a focus on scalable, sustainable, and collaborative solutions.
As the world’s leading global event for the humanitarian and development community, AidExandDevelopment2030annually welcome over 3,200 attendees from more than 1,000 organisations, including UN agencies, NGOs, private sector suppliers, government bodies, and social impact investors. Exhibitors span a wide range of sectors, from medical and logistics suppliers to vehicle manufacturers and sustainability innovators.
The new Innovative Finance Pavilion will convene a diverse group of funders, field practitioners, and policy leaders to address key questions around enabling policy environments, organisational readiness, and real-world demand. Sessions will focus on actionable strategies and insights for operationalising finance innovation across the humanitarian ecosystem.
In parallel, Development2030will continue its mission to accelerate progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year’s programme will centre on three critical goals: poverty reduction, universal health coverage, and climate action. Development2030 returns in 2025, adopting a unique participatory format, where it will foster open, solution-focused dialogue designed to challenge conventional thinking and drive transformative collaboration.
