Requirements for the Global Humanitarian Overview have reached $55.2 billion to assist 248 million of the 363 million people in need.1 The GHO is made up of 43 inter-agency coordinated response plans: 26 Humanitarian Response Plans (HRP), nine regional plans, five Flash Appeals, and three other types of plans.

Donors have provided $13.8 billion as of end-July for the plans in the GHO, which represents 25 per cent of the total funding required this year. This is the same amount recorded at the end of July in 2022; meanwhile, it is five per cent less than the coverage of last July’s $46.7 billion. Coverage of the plans in the GHO varies widely. Twenty out of the 43 inter-agency response plans (47 per cent) are currently funded below the global average of 25 per cent. The gap between financial requirements and resources currently stands at $41 billion.

An additional $4.7 billion of humanitarian funding has been channelled outside the GHO, bringing total humanitarian funding to $18.5 billion.2 This is $1 billion less than reported by donors and humanitarian partners at the same time last year.
