It offers examples of how FAO's supports countries to mitigate risks affecting the food chain. In this context, it draws special attention to information systems, monitoring and early warning systems.
The document can be used to help East African countries develop food control systems, and implement operational protocols that clearly outline the roles, responsibilities and process for early detection, prevention and control of food safety incidents.
