Education in Danger Monthly News Brief, March 2025

Insecurity Insight has identified at least 152 attacks on education in 20 countries and one territory between 01 January and 27 February 2025. Most incidents were reported in Myanmar, followed by the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt), Ukraine and Ethiopia and attributed to state actors. In these incidents, schools, kindergartens and universities were damaged 98 times, mainly by explosive weapons use. The data with details on location, reported conflict party, weapon used and brief description is available here for download. Data is updated on HDX every Monday. The dataset does not currently include event descriptions due to HDX policy. Contact us for curated datasets.
