The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is part of the United Nations System and stands as the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration. To serve member states and partners, IOM’s Global Data Institute (GDI) aims to harness the power of data for action to save lives and deliver solutions, data for insight on global mobility patterns to facilitate regular migration pathways, and data for foresight to anticipate future migration dynamics. As a core part of the GDI, IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) also works towards these objectives. The DTM Insight report provides monthly data updates on human mobility, placing focus on relevant thematic areas and wider UN frameworks. Data insights are distilled from the latest DTM reports with the intention of making the analysis more accessible. For background on the scope of reporting, you can explore an outline of DTM data collection methodologies here. The data insights are organized within IOM Strategic Plan (2024-2028) which highlights three strategic priorities - saving lives, delivering solutions and facilitating regular migration pathways.
