Disaster Summary Sheet: Floods

Attachments

Document objective

This disaster summary sheet (DSS) provides a general profile of the potential impact of a flood. The DSS helps understanding what the impact and priority needs after a flooding may be, based on experience and lessons learnt from medium and large scale floods that have occurred in the past.

This document does not intend to provide an in-depth analysis of the specific impact of floods in different settings. It can however be used immediately after you have received a flood alert, as a framework for estimating the impact of the disaster or as a briefing package on “what do we know about the impact of floods on life saving sectors”.
