Insecurity Insight identified 320 incidents of violence against or obstruction of health care in 18 countries and territories between 01 January and 01 April 2025. In these incidents, 63 health workers were killed, 73 injured and eight kidnapped. Health facilities damaged at least 89 times. High incident numbers were recorded in the occupied Palestinian territory (118), Ukraine (78), Myanmar (43) and Sudan (30).

In eastern DRC, ongoing clashes between M23 rebels, the Congolese army (FARDC), and other armed groups affected health workers, facilities, and patients. Health facilities were looted or damaged, with equipment, medicines, and supplies taken. Clashes led to bullets and rockets striking operational areas such as a maternity ward, and neonatal unit, injuring patients including a baby in an incubator and reportedly killing newborns and pregnant women. Ambulances, including those operated by local NGOs, were also attacked during evacuations.
