Vietnam - Severe weather (ADINet, NOAA-CPC, Vietnam Meteorological and Hydrological Administration) (ECHO Daily Flash of 15 April 2025)

  • Since 10 April, heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds resulting in floods and landslides have been affecting Vietnam, particularly Tan Uyen city, Bình Duong province in the southeast region of Viet Nam, as well as Lai Chau province in the northwest, causing casualties and damage.
  • According to the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), as at 10 April, one person was killed, 38 houses were damaged across the Tan Uyen city area. The same source reports, as at 14 April, one fatality and one still missing person in Lung Cu village, Lai Chau Province, while 27 houses were damaged.
  • Over the next 48 hours, more rainfall is expected across the country, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall particularly in the southeast.
