Vietnam: Floods claim 13 lives in central region

The recent floods in Central Vietnam have claimed 13 lives, including seven in Quang Nam province, five in Thua Thien

  • Hue province and one in Quang Ngai province, according to the national center for dyke management, flood and storm control on October 22.

The floods have submerged nearly 14,500 houses, damaged and washed away 168 others, immersed three fishing vessels and destroyed 870 hectares of newly transplanted rice.

According to the centre, the rainfall in these provinces has reduced to 10mm per day and the floods are slowly subsiding.
