Vietnam - Floods and landslides ( ADINet, NCHMF) (ECHO Daily Flash of 02 October 2024)

  • Since 28-29 September, heavy rainfall has affected Ha Giang province in northern Vietnam, causing widespread flooding and landslides, that resulted to casualties and damage.
  • According to the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), as of 30 September, three people died, three are still missing, and nine people have been injured by floods and landslides across Viet Vinh and Dong Tam communes in north-eastern Vietnam. At least 556 people and 139 houses have been affected and at least two roads have been blocked by landslides.
  • For the next 24 hours, moderate rainfall is expected over the whole Vietnam.
