Viet Nam: Shelter built for flood evacuees in Da Nang

A flood shelter has been completed in the central city of Da Nang, a local official said Saturday.

The VND750 million (US$44,400) structure, which took five months to complete, can accommodate about 200 people during floods and storms, said Hoa Quy Ward People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Hoa.

The house, in Ngu Hanh Son District, is the second of its kind in the city.

The first, which is large enough for 300 people, was completed in October last year and helped hundreds during floods late in the year.
