Heavy rainfall and strong winds continued to affect northern Viet Nam, mainly Lai Châu, Hà Giang, and Lào Cai provinces since 7 June, triggering landslides and causing floods, flash floods and a number of severe weather-related incidents that have resulted in more casualties and damage.
Media and the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) report, as of 11 June, two fatalities, of which one in the Lai Châu province due to floods and one more in the Hà Giang province due to lightning, and one missing person in the Lào Cai province.
Over the next 96 hours, more heavy rainfall is still forecast over most of northern Viet Nam, including the already affected provinces.
