Viet Nam: Recovery support for Ketsana and Mirinae affected provinces continues

Irish Aid has recently confirmed three grants for recovery aid in response to typhoons Ketsana and Mirinae. The grants will be implemented by CECI, Save the Children and Plan International. The Viet Nam Red Cross with assistance of IFRC is also distributing more than 2100 tons of rice in ten provinces.

Irish Aid is funding the following programs:

1. Recovery of livelihoods and access to basic education services for Ketsana affected populations in To Mo Rong and Kon Ray districts of Kon Tum province. The project budget is €100,000 and implemented by the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI)

2. Support children and their families in Ketsana affected areas in Huong Hoa district of Quang Tri province. The project budget is €70,000 and implemented by Plan International.

3. Recovery assistance to most affected people, particularly children, as victims of the Mirinae typhoon in Dong Xuan and Tuy An districts of Phu Yen province. The project budget is €95,000 and implemented by Save the Children.
