The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Le The Thao, has signed a document setting aside VND 800 billion from the city budget to help clean up after the historic floods in late October and early November.
Accordingly, the city has agreed to spend VND 561 billion on the agricultural sector, VND 20 billion on environmental sanitation, VND 15 billion on epidemic prevention, 100 billion on traffic improvements, and VND 35 billion on the educational and urban and social areas.
The city has also agreed to use VND 50 billion to buy essential goods to help people in need, and to purchase VND 30 tons of chemicals to sanitize fisheries, poultry and animal breeding grounds.
